Equine assisted psychotherapy allows the treating professional to incorporate a variety of therapeutic approaches and models, each of which uses horses as co-therapists. Dr. Karol works one-on-one with her clients, in sessions that are often a mixture of talking, riding and horse care. The Foundation's treatment program for children and adolescents helps them to manage issues like:
The majority of the Foundation’s clients are referred to the program by their physicians or school counselors, or by other area mental health professionals.
